Proposal for an International Competition for a public square, Genoa
In 1983, within the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America, the city of Genoa organized an international competition for a public square around Christopher Columbus’ house.
Ian Martin, architect in collaboration with Fred Arciero, architect prepared an entry for this competition that would provide a space for public gatherings and provide an underground tunnel below this public space to resolve existing vehicular traffic problems around Christophe Columbus’ house to be called Piazza Dante.
