This project consists in the addition of a 5000 ft. sq. freezer facility to an existing food distribution facility. The principal innovations implemented in this state of the art facility are as follows:
Online network of sensors for temperature / humidity detection in the walls, the roof and under the concrete floor slab for 24 hr supervision and control complete with supervisory signal transmitted to an independent alarm central.
Radiant (glycol) heating system under the floor insulation for temperature control of the ground below the slab.
Heat exchange systems for energy recuperation from the cooling systems to heat the existing facility;
Use of facade and roofing materials with a high solar reflectance index to reduce heat gain and heat island effect;
Creation of a vegetated swale at the edge of the parking lot to reduce stormwater volume though infiltration.
