The following are some of the innovations put in place in this project:
Water efficency - Overall water use reduction of 30%
Optimizing energy performance - Optimizing artificial lighting through the use of LED & fluorescent. Motion and daylight sensors allow for efficient control of the lighting.
Regional materials - The project achieved a ratio of more than 20% for use of regional materials. The project achieved a ratio of more than 50% FSC wood.
Quality of interior environments - Development and implementation of an indoor air quality management plan for the construction & occupancy phases of the building operations.
Materials & Resources - Minimize the impact of environmental pollutants (such as the following) by specifying and implementing the use of low to zero rate of volatile organic compounds and no urea formaldehyde.
Natural light and views - Views and natural lighting were maximized throughout the space guaranteeing natural light and direct views to the exterior to more than 75% of the occupants.
